Policy and Procedures
Every organisation and company is required by government legislation, Ofsted, and National Minimum Standards to keep Child Protection policy and procedures of the organisation updated on a regular basis to maintain a quality service. The organisation must ensure staff are consulted and made aware of relevant changes which affect their work practice and the day to day running of the home.
Staff members should receive a copy of all Child Protection policy and procedures of the organisation or business during the induction process, and a day scheduled during the induction programme to give staff a briefing on the content and expectations and statement of purpose of the organisation/business
It is important and good practice that there should be a young person’s handbook which is age appropriate with information relating to the day to day running of the childcare provision, and should be given during the admission process to the young person and explained within a 24hour period.
JH Child Protection Services can assist in updating policies and procedures and offer continued support to ensure they meet any changes in legislation now and in the future.
