Monitoring of Systems in Child Care Organisations: There are various standards to meet with regards having clear structures in place to support the implementation and monitoring of systems within an organisation/business which ensure quality of care and transparency. These structures define clear lines of accountability, roles and responsibilities to evaluate the effectiveness of quality of care, practice and reflect giving consideration whether it could be done better. Monitoring of systems also checks against defined standards such as: organisational targets, performance indicators, Ofsted standards, Every Child Matters in the work place five standards which is a set of reforms supported by the Children Act 2004, and assists with planning change and linking them into long term goals to meet continuous quality improvements in line with legislation.

Child Protection Services can quality assure the self-assessment monitoring process the organisation have in place and look at further ways of how the systems in place can be developed to meet current legislation and required standards.

Who is Responsible for Child Care Protection?

The child protection standards are applicable to all public bodies, organisations, professionals and persons who provide statutory services to children. They also establish a framework of best practice in child protection for voluntary, community and independent sector organisations and practitioners (including counsellors and therapists working in a private capacity) who work with or have significant contact with children and young people. They should also help families and members of the public understand how services work to protect children and the important contribution they themselves can make to the safeguarding of children and young people.
